Marketing Tips – at the Expo
Marketing Tips for Exhibitors – at the Expo
As many of you may know exhibiting is more than just turning up and setting up your booth. Being part of an exhibition is a lengthy process that requires a lot of work, before and after the show! There are many tools you can use to add to the success of your show but one of the most effective is marketing (if done correctly).
Your presence at the show is all about your first impression, as this will most likely be the attendees first meet with yourself (product ambassador) and the product itself, everybody is a prospective customer so leave a lasting and positive impression.
> Always be friendly, even when on a break, they will remember you if you are not and therefore this will be associated with your product
> Have enough staff, the last thing you want is for prospective customers not being able to try your product or discuss it with you and therefore seeking out your competitor who is able to provide this to them
Build relationships, you don’t want to bombard the attendee with a pushy sales pitch; this will most likely result in no benefits to you. Building a relationship not only creates a positive experience for the prospective customer, resulting in a likely purchase AT the show. This could also result in a long-term customer resulting in long-term returns, purely because you took the time to ask for their name and have a conversation.
Exhibition show attendees will no doubt have seen a great deal of exhibitors before they get to you, of the same or very similar products or services. So you need to stand out, be different from the rest and be memorable so they go to you when they are after your specific product or service.
> The attendees need to know who you are and what you are providing within 3.8 seconds otherwise they will most likely move on
> Use colour (let them spot you from a distance)
> Be unique, think outside the box, provide a different way to sample your product or service rather than the simple ‘Cider Tasting’ whereby you have your flavours out to be sampled.
> Make it fun, make it a competition, do something that is going to leave an impression!
